About Things to Do in Rome

An independent guide that helps you choose the right Rome tickets, tours and day trips, and book them without surprises.

Who we are

Things to Do in Rome is written by the Things to Do in Rome editorial team. We are not a tour company. We don't sell tours or tickets ourselves. We compare what GetYourGuide offers in Rome and send you to the tour that fits.

How we pick tours

  • Live data. Price, length, group size, meeting point and cancellation terms come from each tour's live page on GetYourGuide. We don't write them from memory.
  • Rating and reviews. We show the rating and the number of reviews as GetYourGuide shows them. We never round them up. We prefer a tour with many reviews over a perfect score from a few. Where there are only a few, we say so.
  • Official tickets first. When a sight sells its own ticket, we say so first. The Colosseum sells on ticketing.colosseo.it. The only official site for the Vatican Museums is tickets.museivaticani.va. The Borghese Gallery asks every visitor to book ahead. Then we say what a tour adds, such as a guide or a set time.
  • Refunds, said plainly. Tours with free cancellation come first. A ticket you can't get your money back for is marked "Non-refundable". Vatican Museums tickets are like that: they are valid only on their day.
  • Prices that changed. Some sights raised their prices in 2026. The Pantheon now costs €7, not €5. We give each official price with its source and the date we checked it.
  • Low-rated tours left off. When a tour has a very low rating from only a few reviews, we leave it out.

Where the facts come from

Tour prices, lengths and ratings come from GetYourGuide. We checked them on 25 October 2026. Opening times, official ticket prices and travel times come from the official sites of the sights, museums and transport companies. Each page links to them. Hotels were checked on Booking.com. Prices change, so the booking page always has the final word.

How the site makes money
